II CONGRESO INTERNACIONAL DE MEDICINA TRADICIONAL Y SALUD PÚBLICA: “PLANTAS SAGRADAS, CULTURA Y DERECHOS HUMANOS” 3-5 de abril de 2014

El interés primordial del congreso será reflexionar sobre las problemáticas ecológicas, jurídicas y socioculturales que enfrentan las plantas sagradas en el mundo contemporáneo. Además este congreso quiere constituirse como un foro cultural para el encuentro de académicos y médicos tradicionales de América Latina y especialmente de México.
Por lo tanto el encuentro de la academia y de curanderos empíricos, es importante para entender los horizontes de dos epistemologías, que se pueden entrelazar y ayudar mutuamente, para el ejercicio del derecho humano de tener acceso a las “medicinas sagradas”.

Otro objetivo, es el convocar a los distintos saberes y conocimientos, que actualmente se practican por parte de médicos tradicionales, “hombres de medicina”, y shamanes con el fin de recapitular y visualizar el horizonte de dichos saberes en el contexto actual de un mundo globalizado y en permanente tensión social.

Novedades editoriales en 2014

El año 2014 se estrena con el anuncio de dos publicaciones dedicadas a la ayahuasca, ambas editadas por la antropóloga Beatriz Caiuby Labate y la psicóloga, terapeuta y artista Clancy Cavnar.
